I am on my laptop right now...my home computer got a virus earlier in the day. I ran Malwarebytes and another virus remover. Got a fix from Micrososft and started everything back up. Now, I got a (User Account Control) message that will not let me get into anything..I cannot get on the internet, task manager without it asking to allow or do a scan. Even if you click "allow" it won't let me get on the internet or half of the programs. I went to the geek sites and tried everything they suggested, but I cannot get on the net or task manager or anything..only on the Start menu can I do things..and it still prompts me for different items I click on. HELP!!! I cannot find my cd to restore the XP OS...so, what do I do? |

Try logging in as an administrator?
The built-in Administrator account is hidden from Welcome Screen when a user account with Administrator privileges exists and enabled.
In Windows XP Home Edition, you can login as built-in Administrator in Safe Mode only. For XP Professional, press CTRL + ALT + DEL twice at the Welcome Screen and input your Administrator password in the classic logon window that appears. |

And how is that going to help if the problem sis still there? I am stoopid when it comes to computers so you'll have to explain step by step. Thanks |
