I finally took the plunge and ordered my Motorola Droid yesterday, it should arrive tomorrow.

Since I'm new to the whole smart phone thing I have a couple of questions about Apps

What is the best place (or places) to download Apps?

For Apps that cost money, is it a one time fee when you download the app, or are you charged each time you use it on the phone?

Is their a limit to the number of Apps you can keep on your phone?

What are the most popular and or most recommended apps?

Thanks for the help.

Shameless bump.   And I'm sure someone will ask if I did a search, I did, but none of the threads really answered any of the above questions

Not sure about the Droid, but i have a Blackberry and the have a site called "app world". As for price some are free, most of the ones that are paid for are a one time fee. a few have a monthly charge, just depends on the app. As far as number of apps that you can have on the phone, that is purely limited to the available memory on the phone. There is probably a site where you can look for apps, Blackberry has one called "crackberry.com". They have phone accesories and an app site. Best bet is just to trust your "googlefu". Hope this was at least a little helpful.

Thanks,  it is helpful.

I've been doing the google searches, but I figured I'd ask the hive to see if their was a dedicated App site.

Link to the Android Forum Can get some info about your phone along with some app info there.

Pay apps are usually 1 time thing. The phone should also have a built in app search function that you can find and download various apps.
