"so why don't we dump 'em people.....to the bottom of the sea....before some 'ol fool come 'round here wanna shoot either you or me" Dosen't sound very pro gun to me.... ![]() You gotta listen to the title track.... "Last night I heard this politician talkin 'bout his brand new mission Liked his plans but they came undone when it got around to God and guns I don't know where he grew up but it sure wasn't down at the hunting club Cause if it was, he'd understand just a little bit more about the working man God and guns keeps us strong That's what this country was founded on Well we might as well give up and run if we let em take our God and guns Out here in my neck of the woods where God is great and guns are good You really can't know that much about em if you think we're better off without em Oh there was a time we ain't forgot you could rest all night with your doors unlocked But there ain't nobody safe no more so you say your prayers and you thank the Lord For that peace-maker in the dresser drawer God and guns keep us strong That's what this country was founded on Well we might as well give up and run If we let em take our God and guns" |

"That Ain't My America" LYNYRD SKYNYRD From the Album - "God & Guns" (2009) (Johnny Van Zant, Gary Rossington, Rickey Medlocke, Brett Warren) Sometimes I wanna light up underneath the no-smoking sign Sometimes I wish they'd tell me, how justice got so blind I wish they'd just leave me alone 'cause I'm doing alright You can take your change on down the road and leave me here with mine 'Cause that ain't my America That aint this country's roots You wanna slam old Uncle Sam But I ain't letting you I'm mad as hell and you know I still bleed Red, White, and Blue That ain't us That Ain't My America I was standing there in Dallas Waitin on a plane I overheard an old man Tell a young soldier "thanks" The young soldier hung his head and said "it's hard to believe You're the only one who took the time to say a word to me" And the old man said... That ain't my America That aint this country's roots You wanna slam old Uncle Sam But I ain't letting you I'm mad as hell and you know I still bleed Red, White, and Blue That ain't us That Ain't My America It's to the women and men who in their hands hold a Bible and a gun And they ain't afraid of nothing, when when they're holding either one Now there's kids who can't pray in school $100 dollar tanks of gas I can tell you right now this country ain't AIN'T SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THAT! NO! 'Cause that ain't my America That aint this country's roots You wanna slam old Uncle Sam But I ain't letting you I'm mad as hell and you know I still bleed Red, White, and Blue That ain't us That Ain't My That Ain't My America That Ain't My America That Ain't My America |

Quoted: Quoted: The "new" skynyrd still isn't pro-gun. They are against owning anything non-fudd. Hell, they didn't even write god and guns. At least the original band sounded good. ![]() Do you have anything recently said that supports this? They made it pretty clear in a recent Guitar World interview. |

Just picked up the latest Lynyrd Skynyrd CD, "God and Guns" Fuckin AWESOME to hear another of rarities in the music world that understand what America was and should be. Did they include the part where their idea of America includes sex with children? ![]() Former Lynyrd Skynyrd Drummer Jailed for Not Registering as Sex Offender Tuesday, November 20, 2007 * ShareThis ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Artimus Pyle, a former drummer for legendary rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, was in jail Tuesday on charges he failed to properly register as a sex offender, St. Johns County authorities said. The 59-year-old, whose real name is Thomas Delmer Pyle, was being held on $10,000 bail. The jail had no information on whether he was represented by a lawyer. Pyle pleaded guilty in 1993 in Duval County on charges of attempted capital sexual battery by an adult on a victim younger than 12 and principal to lewd and lascivious on a child younger than 16. He was sentenced to eight years of probation and designated as a sex offender. He was arrested in 1992 after two girls 4- and 8-year-old sisters told investigators Pyle had sex with them. Pyle renewed his driver's license last month and listed a St. Johns County address, authorities said. Because he is required to register as a sex offender in Florida, the records were automatically forwarded to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement sex offender database. Detectives attempted to verify Pyle's address and discovered he had not lived there for many years. It also was determined Pyle had not registered since 2001. Authorities found Pyle had moved to Asheville, N.C. North Carolina authorities said Pyle told them that he lived in Florida. He was told to register as a sex offender in his current state of residency, but he has since failed to change his address and register in person as required by Florida law, the sheriff's office said. Pyle was arrested Monday when he came to the sheriff's office to speak with detectives. According to the Lynyrd Skynyrd's Web site, Pyle joined the band in 1975 and left in 1992 |

GW interview quotes, copied from my post here- http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=958205 Rossington- "I think handguns were just made for killing, and I don't think anyone needs one, but a shotgun to protect your family is different." ![]() Medlocke- "I'm all for background checks before anybody's able to own anything. I happen to have a concealed weapons permit, and I've had background checks on me. I don't have a criminal record. As for assault weapons, get them off the street. There are certain steps we could take to make it right for everybody, and I'm all for them." |
