Event Horizon was a cool fuckin movie.

Saw it for the first time today. It was fuckin awesome.

It looks like the game Dead Space took a lot from that movie.

ETA I wish they would have shown the hell dimension

Great horror flick from the 90s.  Another one I recommend is "In the Mouth of Madness."

I suggest if you were a fan of this movie and own an Xbox 360, PS3, or PC that you go out and buy the game Dead Space. The game is almost a mirror image of the movie.

My favorite horror movie

I never saw it but I heard that it wasn't very good.

My brother saw it when he was 12.  He didnt stop having nightmares about it until he was almost 14.  I now own the movie and absolutely love it.

Great movie.

i actually enjoyed the hell out of that movie.

was disappointed though––i was expecting the ambiguous "save me" message to actually mean "free me", which would have put an entirely different spin on things.
3/28/2010 1:47:34 AM EDT
[#16]
It was "ok".  I hadn't seen it when it came out but then read very postive reviews.  Think they soured me... expected more.

If you go in with low expectations you will be pleased.

my .02$...

I imagine being on the crew. We saw the video, understand how the wormhole works, and then its agreed the ship has been in actual HELL. I imagine I would be like
SON. OF. A. BITCH. I wish I was at home eating ramen, but now im on a ship that is possessed.

Was the worst pile of @#$% movie I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of bad.  I'd rather watch the Star Wars Holiday Special.  I'd rather watch the gay vampire movies out recently.  Hell you name it I'd rather watch it then that travesty... even An Inconvenient Truth(A Convenient Lie) or something from Michael More would be preferable.  There just aren't words for me to express how much I hate Event Horizon.

What did you hate about it? It was pretty original IMO, FX were good, and creep factor was nice. Im interested in how you could hate it that bad.

I thought it was more formulaic than scary...

Watched part of it on UPN when I was, like, 12.  Finally worked up the courage to see the rest of it when I was 21.  I have never found another movie so profoundly disturbing.

From what others have told me about the movie, I have no desire to see it. I would likely be putting rounds into the walls of my room late at nite

For some reason that movie scared the shit outta me.

Terrible movie.

You have no taste, sir.

I love the movie.  I love Sci-Fi and enjoy horror.  Also the idea of teleporting into a dimension resembling hell reminds me of the original Doom, which is also awesome.  I definitely need to pick up Dead Space, how is it for PC?

Event Horizon started out with the greatest story line, cast...and everything...up until about 35 minutes into the movie and they just plain fucking RUINED IT.  I was SOOOO pissed off.

If you liked the Cthulu stories from Lovecraft––-Madness was surely a ripoff from all of that, but still...pretty good.  I was hoping for more––-but it was okay, I guess.

Same here.

The only thing that stood out when I saw it? One of the door activation controls was nothing more than a "jitterbug" air sander painted gray or black.

Didn't think it was that good but it was worth watching.

"I have no intention of leaving her, Doctor. I will take the Lewis and Clark to a safe distance, and then I will launch tac missiles at the Event Horizon until I'm satisfied she is vaporized. Fuck this ship! "

I hated this movie and saw it in the theatre.  Thought it was not only a stupid idea but a poor execution of that idea.  Some interesting visuals, but other than that utterly underwhelming.

That movie messed with my head. Not 'Eraserhead' messed up, but pretty messed up.

Loved it.

meh, I didn't think too much about it

I watched it when it came out on video originally.  Wasn't overly impressed.
After reading the love fest here on arfcom some time ago, I decided to try it again.  Still wasn't impressed.

Not disturbing / scary at all.  Now mind you, I've been searching for a movie that WILL scare me for years without success.  Suggestions, anyone?  (Creepy, jumpy / supernatural / sci-fi  scary, not gore)

Me and the wife unit saw that when it first came out. Actually it was our first date after a 3 month breakup. We both loved it and watch it to this day when its on. I need to buy that movie.  That movie messed with our heads too, good stuff

Any place that will make you claw your eyes out so you dont see what is really going on is one fucked up place that I really dont want to visit without a minigun and a wing of A-10's backing me up.
