I remember making one of these in high school. But we had to hit the intake side with an air chuck from the compressor to get it started.

The smoke generators we used in the Army had a pulse jet engine which provided the heat. Noisy things. And they needed the fog oil once they were started, otherwise they would overheat. We usually just started them dry for monthly PMCS. Used a few times in the field, they produce a great cloud of smoke. |
