I was so disappointed when I went to go see it.

The whole time I was expecting this epic movie where fucking dragons fly around destroying the entire world.

Instead it was a film of an already destroyed world.  I mean, don't get me wrong, it wasn't horrible, but it was disappointing.

Kinda like how its interesting when you see fire fighters clean up a burning wreck.  Its okay, but it would be much more entertaining to have seen HOW it became a burning wreck.

That's not an Abrams, It's a Cheiftain, prob a mk5. Very common in Britain.

Other vehicles used-

Saracen APC
Several Hummvees
ZIL-131 Radar truck
Stalwart Amphib truck

Lots of Fals, m16s, m4s, m2hbs, dshk-38s, 6" barreled 500 yard anti-dragon shotgun....

Whoever wrote that damn movie needs to see exactly what a .50 BMG cartridge will actually do. When the Dragon withstood getting shot with the M2, but got smoked with a freaking oversized crossbow, I had to roll my eyes.

Hollywood really needs to bring ARFCOM on as a consultant group when writing scenes involving weapons.

.50 BMG?

The brits field a low altitude air defense system called the Streaker. A missile that gets close then shoots out 4 high velocity explosive darts to kill aircraft..it would work WONDERS on dragons. So would any Manpad worth it's weight. And then there's the fighters with missiles and 20/30mm cannons and AAMs.

I also doubted the dragons ability to overtake a modern military.  Hell, heat seeking missiles would destroy them let alone a supersonic aircraft.

Best round for Dragon? I vote for the .50 BMG round that blasts through the walls and then explodes. I'm crappy with my ordinance designation numbers.

Nah. A-10 Warthog. Flys slowish, but faster than a dragon and has a big ass 30mm cannon capable of sawing one in half. Not to mention the ability to carry external ordinance like 2.75in rockets, Sidewinders, Maverick AGMs, and Hellfire AGMs.

I don't buy that the dragons are cold blooded.  Using the same argument the dinosaur people use, the amount of energy needed to supply the flight exhibited in the movie would not be possible from a cold blooded animal.

Vehemently defended arguments over what round is best for dragon and whether or not a heat seeking missile would have a target to lock onto.

Reminds me of a family dinner where a geeky relative of mine and his equally geeky friends spent the entire time arguing over which super power is the most preferable and will get you the furthest.

I have mixed feelings on this.  Fighting zombies would lead to you having to shoot one of your former loved ones as a zombie.  I don't think I could shoot my kid even if he went zombie.

On the other hand, fighting dragons I would feel a little more on the light side as far as armament goes.  I am not sure my AR is going to make as big of an impact on something breathing fire down on me.
