... And I need to shoot more lol. I took the AR, 17hmr, and my 597. Nothing spectacular the AR needs some sight work. I have a cheapo red dot and it isn't terrible but not cutting it. I was getting decent groups but I think they could be better. I could do the Grapefruit shoot and get them all in the 5-6in ring but know I could do better. The range only allows to shoot 50 or 100yds with center fire. I'm thinking of going primary arms and a magnifier. I also needed some sunglasses as the cover of the range was good but the glare from snow made it almost impossible to see the dot. Also had a Hornady 223 case split in the neck? Out of 50 in the box only 1 did that and didn't even notice til I picked up the brass?
Now I just recently got a Savage 93r17 stainless with bull barrel and a simmons scope. I got it in a trade and its sweet. 50yds after zeroing all 5 shots from the mag were touching! I'm pretty happy with that although the hollow point tnt stuff doesn't feed too good. The Hornady plastic tip stuff was awesome and I got the best accuracy from it. Its bone stock with a bipod and shoots great. Also shot my 597 .22 for the first time in a long time. It still is very accurate for out of the box but having some ejection issues. The spent cases don't come all the way out all the time. So it smashes the empty case and tries to feed the next round with the old crushed haha? So I'm going to look into the volq extractor upgrade. |
