Hmmm that's whacky... I suggest using a full IRC client then...

mIRC is the way to go on a PC... IMHO

setup is pretty easy as well... just point it to chat.ar15.com and the port stays as 6667 and yer good to go...

Chat got F'd up last night... dealt with last night as well.

As for the question at hand...

"IRC" = Internet Relay Chat

It's basically the software being run to interact with people or "chat." There are web based clients such as the one linked by our "chat" link up top, AND there are full clients for your computer. This means you can download and install an "IRC CLIENT" and simply tell it which server to use (chat.ar15.com port 6667) and not have to worry about the web issues.

If you have a PC I suggest getting mIRC at www.mirc.com which is a great irc client IMHO. I never use the web client.

In the near future we'll be evaluating new server software as well as new web clients. No estimate on when this will happen at this time.
