I'm sure this is possible. One should be able to REMOVE certain threads from their active topic list.

Now you may ask: "But why bother Lockedon? They go away eventually anyway."

The answer is not nessessarily. Say you replied to a dealer from the EE about an Item they offer for sale. That topic may stay in your "Active topics" list for a looonnnggg time. Even after you bought the thing and your question is answered, because other people, dealers included keep bumping it. Same goes for Tacked threads you reply to. It clutters things up and makes it more difficult to keep track of threads you're actually actively involved are.

Just a suggestion I had to improve this wonderful site.

If the post deletion option ever returns, that would solve the problem.

This is a good thread to throw in my suggestion.

How about somewhere you can click (checkbox maybe) to make a thread appear in your active topics.  That way some of the threads won't have tons of TAG for later etc in them.  ie checking the box makes the thread appear like you posted in there.

That's an interesting idea.  And if you replied to the thread, that box would automatically be checked.  If you didn't want it in MAT any longer, you just go back and uncheck it.

Good idea.  Now if Goatboy could win the lottery and quit work, he could devote all of his time and attention to the site.  He is swamped right now.  There's enough on his plate to keep 3 people busy.

Might be easier to install a filter.

+1

I've been thinking this same thing.  But I'd like it better if the check box just sent the thread to the bottom of the list, rather than removing it entirely.

How about a "subscribe for MyActiveTopics" button like the "subscribe for e-mail updates" button?  That would save all of the "tag" posts, and you could unsubscribe from it.  Maybe call it "add to Favorite Topics" or something like that.
