The lease was probably 15 miles north of Rifle and 10 mi. off of a paved road and on the backside of a mountain. The day before the season opened, our group divided and scouted the three very narrow canyons that radiated out from our camp like wagon wheel spokes. My hunting buddy and I chose the canyon on the left. Opening morning, there was still plenty of snow on the ground from a blizzard the previous week. That morning we headed up our narrow canyon abut 300 yds. Even though our 1978 Jeep Wagoneer had chains wired on and hubs locked , it was slow going due to the snow covered incline. We sat in the Jeep, facing up the canyon and waited for sun up to get out and hunt. Hunting buddy would crank the jeep occasionally to run the heater which fogged the windows some. We had sat and talked ourselves out and waited in silence. In a bit, buddy looked in the rear-view and said "shit! somebody's coming up our canyon! This was not good as it was nearly time to hunt and it would disturb any deer nearby. I looked back through the frosted rear glass and saw what appeared to be a bright headlight about 3' off the ground. It made 1 slow revolution around the canyon base, then started slowly up toward us. I wondered if someone was lost or confused canyons or if there was an emergency with someone else in the group. The light came on slowly and pulled up right on our bumper with their "brights" on, which I thought was kind of rude. They turned their light off and we stepped out to see who it was and what the problem might be. We went back to the rear and there was NO ONE, NOTHING, NO TRACKS IN THE SNOW BUT OUR OWN. It was fairly bright out by now due to the snow reflecting some moonlight. We could easily see the 300 yds to the canyon base ... NOTHING. We got back in, loaded our rifles and leaned away from the locked doors. Later, after we hunted, it took several point-turns in the narrow canyon to turn the jeep around and several minutes to get back down. yall lose any time? |

It's caused me to be skittish about camping at times to be honest, no real reason why other than that spidey sense feeling if I really think about it. My senses go on full fucking alert at night in the woods now, I go to sleep armed to the teeth in my tent .If we really want to go down the rabbit hole, I've gotten similar spidey sense at night here in the house and immediately go check on the kids - and each time always avoid looking out the back door to the porch. Can't explain it other than I really don't want to look out there. I was adopted at birth if that adds to the fun. Originally Posted By sq40: I’ve never seen a craft. Well, my wife and I saw a strange one today. About two in the afternoon, driving down the road, my wife pointed out the window and said, "What is that? I looked over and saw this silver craft, several thousand feet moving about like an airliner would move. I said its probably an airliner My wife, said, "You think so?" I said, "Yeah, I think it 's an airliner." I kept watching it and about ten seconds later it turned sideways (it looked like two siver barrels, side by side), then it went straight up at least a few thousand feet unbelievably fast and then just disappeared (it didn't climb out of sight, it just disappeared) My wife said, "Did you just see that? That wasn't an airliner. " At that point, I really wished I had taken my phone and filmed it. But I just kept explaining it away in my mind. Until I couldn't, and it was gone. |

I saw a couple when I was a kid in the early 80’s. One was a bright orange disc “chasing” a KC-135. I grew up about 25 miles from a SAC base. Seeing KC-135’s and B-52’s flying overhead was a regular occurrence. This particular one was seen in the winter with clear skies right around sunset. A few KC-135’s were flying in formation at a fairly low altitude. I remember the loud rumbling and being able to clearly see the engine nacelles. Heading was to the West into the setting sun. I’ve wondered over the years that if what I saw was just a reflection off of the refueling boom. I also wonder if the neighbor kid I was playing with still remembers. Another that I saw was very close in time frame to this that same winter, with the same neighbor kid. It was dark with very few clouds. I recall that we were marveling at the stars in the sky when a group of white lights in a diamond shape pattern passed overhead. This sighting was also heading West. It was above the clouds. We saw it disappear and reemerge from behind the clouds. Its speed was about the same as an airliner. I’ve been turning wrenches and chasing electrons on airplanes since 1987. My recollections of the mentioned sightings were from a long time ago but I don’t think they have changed. Being in aviation as long as I have they are memories that I reflect on from time to time. I have never put this out publicly before and have rarely spoken of them to anyone. |

It never occurred to me and I don't think we looked at our watches. We were mainly watching for enough sun-up to hunt. I can't rule out time loss, butI don't think that happened. |

Haven't really told any one about this except for My Wife because I don't want to sound crazy . One night back in I believe May, I headed out to our ranch to hopefully shoot some hogs. First part of the night was slow and dark. Moon was not up yet, but it was going to be a Full Moon. Moon came up a couple of hours later and I locate a large boar rooting around in a pasture. This pasture is about 30 acres and surrounded by timber. I work my way up to him and take the shot through my NV and Aimpoint (big full moon at my back). I hear what sounds like a hit, but the pig makes it to the timber. I'm sitting there thinking "Damn, I thought that was a head shot" when I notice that everything just got super bright. Wayyyy brighter than it was just a minute ago with the full moon. I look up and there is a giant ball of light in the sky opposite the moon. I flip my NODs up and hovering above the tree line (who knows how high up it really was) was a perfect circle of orange light, almost like a small sun. It seemed to move towards me for a bit. I started walking back in the direction of my truck which was bout a half mile away. the light then turns and starts heading that way as well, so the light is off to my right now. I walk behind a stand of timber and can still see the glow in the sky, but not the light itself. When I clear the timber, there it is. Only now it looks somehow "masked", like it was behind a cloud or something. The night was clear, not a cloud in the sky. It continues to move off as a dispersed orange glow then all of a sudden it was just gone. I'm sure there is a normal explanation for this, but it definitely spooked me a bit at that time. My thoughts now are that it was probably a comet or something of that nature. However it was so spectacular that I can't believe it wouldn't have been a known event. |

aliens are here, might as well tell your story. the real issue is now what the hell do we do ? how are we going to even address the problem? we can hope theyre not here all we want, it doesnt remove the fact they are. We can hope they decide to be peaceful, but that is just being optimistic. By now they likely told their home planet about us... |

Sounds like you ran into just one of the same things that Chris Bledsoe did in NC. Orange ball of fire, easily mistaken for the sun for a split second. Followed him around for what felt like just a minute or so encounter...initially. Not to try and put thoughts in your head but Chris remembered about as much as you do about his encounter until he had hypnotic regression. |
