Looks like a great view from Mars! We should go to Mars. As a group. To watch. I'd be down.

I love puzzles and mysteries. Even if it's just a comet, it's still pretty neat. If it slows down and takes an orbit around us though, a hell of a lot of pants will be dropped and a ton of turds will hit the ground, and our .gov will be shitting even more as they scramble to explain it away.![]()

THE BLUE TAIL OF COMET 3I/ATLAS: The tail of interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS is backwards, faint, and notoriously difficult to photograph. Amateur astronomer Michael Jaeger has figured out the the trick: "Use a blue filter," he says. Jaeger and colleague Gerald Rhemann made this movie of the enigmatic object on Aug. 28th:![]() This is the first time amateurs have made such a clear detection. The tadpole-like tail is very blue and points almost directly toward the sun. Jaeger and Rhemann decided to try a blue filter after they heard that 3I/ATLAS is unusually rich in CO2. It reminded astronomers of another unusual comet, C/2016 R2, from our own Solar System. "Blue filters had already proven very successful with comet C/2016 R2, which had a similar composition, so we tried the same approach with 3I/ATLAS," explains Jaeger. Comets with a lot of carbon dioxide have blue tails because of photochemistry. Solar radiation breaks CO2 into CO+, which emits blue light. Is this happening in 3I/ATLAS? The jury's still out. Astronomers using the James Webb Space Telescope found abundant CO2, but not much CO. Stranger still, the blue tail points toward the sun. Normally, comet tails point away from the sun because gas and dust is pushed back by solar wind and radiation pressure. 3I/ATLAS's tail does the opposite. Is 3I/ATLAS really a comet? Our opinion is "yes," but it's a strange one. Paper: JWST detection of a carbon dioxide dominated gas coma surrounding interstellar object 3I/ATLAS |

INTERSTELLAR COMET IMAGED DURING LUNAR ECLIPSE: Would you believe, the best time to photograph an interstellar comet is during a total lunar eclipse? With the help of that extra darkness, they teased out the subtle colors of 3I/ATLAS. It’s green.![]() "We took advantage of the total lunar eclipse to take a deep image of Comet 3I/ATLAS under the dark skies of Namibia," says Jäger. "Our images show a gas-rich coma of 2 arcminutes for the first time. The coma is clearly visible in both the blue and green images." The sight will be familiar to astronomers: Comets in our own Solar System often glow green. Their emerald hue comes from diatomic carbon (C2), which fluoresces at 518 nanometers when energized by sunlight. That can't be the explanation, though. Spectroscopy of 3I/ATLAS by astronomers at Kitt Peak shows that it is strongly depleted in C2. Indeed, it is one of the most carbon-chain poor comets ever observed. The green glow may therefore be produced by some other mix of gases or dust, mimicking a classic cometary color with unfamiliar chemistry. I'm not sold on accretion but interesting short read - Interstellar objects like 3I/ATLAS that have been captured in planet-forming discs around young stars could become the seeds of giant planets, bypassing a hurdle that theoretical models have previously been unable to explain. https://www.eurasiareview.com/14092025-how-interstellar-objects-similar-to-3i-atlas-could-jump-start-planet-formation-around-infant-stars/ |

That was quite interesting. Could CO2 be from propellant? Propellants would follow an object that size. A tail out front might indicate retrothrust use? (I still think it’s natural, but what if) |

The halo around the object being so massive is mind boggling. It's almost like it's zipping through the universe with its own atmosphere and the nucleus' size would support a not-tiny civilization of beings. It could be up to 45km in diameter. If my google math is accurate and the 45km diameter is correct, the "comet" has about the same surface area as the state of Delaware, assuming it is spherical or nearly-so. If it's any sort of craft, it's a fucking huge one. |

Everything in me says there is no way 2 interstellar life forms will ever meet because of sheer distance/time, but the kid in me is intrigued with the uap that ricocheted a missile, the tic tac vids, and the “biologics” we supposedly recovered from a ufo/uap. The “precise” trajectory to mars is interesting. Maybe the key to interstellar travel is to master wrangling of large space objects, mining/hollowing out and putting in your stuff for the travel, basically using it as a shell to transport drones or equipment. |

In order to understand reality, there's going to have to be a bridge between science/materialism and mysticism. It's nearly impossible when our entire culture has been built on "if we can't measure it, it doesn't exist". If our consciousness is able to have an experience that seems every bit as "real" as the physical world, how is that not worth considering? What we call "reality" is just a load of sensory inputs being interpreted by our meat brain and heavily influenced by our receptors. Every individual experiences the physical world in a unique way but we've just collectively agreed on a set of rules to avoid confusion. If multiple people experience similar things through deep meditation or psychedelics, how is that somehow less "real" than our brain interpreting signals from our retina? I think whatever "they" are, they have a full grasp on all aspects of "the woo" and know how to utilize it. It's an oft-repeated statement but "sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" perfectly describes the space we're currently occupying with all this. The pioneers are those studying DMT and the nature of consciousness. They're on the right path to developing a whole new field of science that breaks us out of the materialist worldview. It could be that whatever controls UAP is trying to nudge us in the right direction. They could choose to behave in ways that conform to our understanding of reality but they typically don't. So they're either indifferent OR they're gradually showing us "hey, you have potential but your science is flawed, watch this". |

Outstanding post… I know from relatively intensely studying the UAP phenomena the last five or so years (after informally/loosely being interested in it) a couple things: 1: The more I know, the less I realize I know, and 2: the more I do know, the more this all seems very connected Bonus 3: the more I find out, the more I seem to run in to a block. I have a fantastic imagination and am capable of solid thinking but at points - and I hesitate to admit this is seriously on the “woo” side of things and I’m on an internet forum - but the more I try to connect the dots the harder it seems to break through to those bigger ideas and concepts. I’ll call it the Babylon Effect because it’s like things get scattered when you really try to dig into this sometimes. It might just be a “me” thing… I envy people who have a greater grasp on it… But even so, there are a lot of people who have deep understanding of (using a table with a hundred legs as my visual analogy) a leg of the table… but so very few people have a grasp of the role every leg plays, let along the table as a whole. |

The "precise" trajectory to mars is interesting. Maybe the key to interstellar travel is to master wrangling of large space objects, mining/hollowing out and putting in your stuff for the travel, basically using it as a shell to transport drones or equipment. Barring some other means of propulsion for getting around the unimaginable vastness of the cosmos, like folding space my guess is they're interdimensional. (Simulation theory, etc) -The nature of consciousness. -Telepathy -Ancient advanced civilizations We are slowly figuring out that reality isn't what we've been taught. Some of the "old ways" were probably more aligned with the true nature of things, before organized religion became a political/power structure and dominated our cultural beliefs. Science became a way for the Church to show evidence of whatever ideology they were pushing, and any ideas that challenged that ideology were "heretical". At some point, organized religion lost control of science but science formed its own dogma rooted in materialism. The truth can't be grasped by materialism and organized religion has converted mysticism into a system of governance that can't be questioned so we're stuck in the middle with "crazy shit" that is very real but taboo as fuck. |

Maybe the key to interstellar travel is to master wrangling of large space objects, mining/hollowing out and putting in your stuff for the travel, basically using it as a shell to transport drones or equipment. Even with the update, we're still missing a like button for posts on this site. Mining/hollowing out an asteroid and putting a 5m layer of ice around it would shield you from any radiation the cosmos tosses at you. A thicker layer of ice at the "front" protects you from micro-impacts. Set spinning, a large enough body would feel like normal gravity for you (whatever "normal" is for your species) without you even noticing (the larger the better). The biggest issue is getting it up to speed, but even that is surmounted by a decent fusion engine (which could use the hydrogen in the ice for fuel) firing for long enough. I looked into this pretty seriously when I was collaborating on a writing project with a friend, and even something like a constant .1g of acceleration gets you up to .1C in a few/several months. The problem comes with stopping, and it's not even really a problem of anything beyond time constraints. You have to turn around and decelerate for the same amount of time, so you have to know where you want to stop well in advance of doing so. Or... ...just fly on through the system, and keep going. I'm still pretty sure it's just a rock/iceball, but the possibility is there that it's not. In a century (or three), we'll be able to do what I described above. Will we? Or, yeah...all the "woo" is extra-dimensional, or we live in a simulation, or, or, or... It's a fun time to be alive, to be sure. |

![]() Failed To Load Title Astronomers have just discovered something far bigger and stranger than 3I/ATLAS. A new interstellar visitor—C/2025 R2 (SWAN)—is one hundred times larger and brighter, streaking toward the Sun with a colossal plasma tail five Moons wide. Unlike any natural comet, it carries a nickel–cobalt armored hull, a plasma-drive exhaust, and a core radiating more power than two colliding black holes. Even more unsettling, its path overlaps with 3I/ATLAS. Both will swing behind the Sun in October 2025, disappearing from every telescope on Earth simultaneously. Avi Loeb calls ATLAS the “scout” and SWAN the “fortress”—a returning probe on a 22,000-year orbit, possibly here for refueling, data collection, or something far more dangerous. Some believe these objects are part of a system, an ancient surveillance network triggered by our radio and TV signals. Others, like Graham Hancock, suggest ancient civilizations may have recorded SWAN’s last visit in the pyramids and megaliths. Is SWAN R2 a comet, a fortress, or the reply to a message humanity unknowingly sent? Orbit
C/2025 R2 (SWAN) came to perihelion one day after discovery on 12 September 2025 at a distance of 0.5 AU (75 million km) from the Sun. Earth will cross the comet's orbit around 5 October 2025 and it may produce a meteor shower.[7] It will make its closest approach to Earth at a distance of 0.26 AU (39 million km; 24 million mi) on 19 October 2025.[10][4] It will cross the celestial equator on 3 November 2025. Orbital period As the comet was discovered near perihelion, the closest approach to the Sun is reasonably well known. But the aphelion (farthest distance from the Sun) is currently constrained by the low spatial resolution of about 1° per pixel STEREO-A observations in August, and without the STEREO-A observations, there is only a short 4-day observation arc for the orbit determination. Aphelion is anywhere from 60+ AU from the Sun with an orbital period of hundreds to thousands of years.[4][3] The Minor Planet Center (using observations through September 15th) estimates an orbital period of 1400 years with aphelion around 250 AU,[3] and JPL (using observations through September 14th) estimates an orbital period of 20000 years with aphelion beyond 1000 AU. |
