I've had some "odd" occurrences , but none that I can say for sure are ghost like. However , my ex wife and oldest daughter did have a similar experience in the old farm house we lived in for years. Shortly after our oldest was born my ex wife says to me , " i know this sounds crazy , but I was sitting in the living room with daughter and looked up to the loft area and saw an older woman looking down on us". She was dead serious and she said she did not feel scared , but felt like a motherly figure was watching over her. She said this occurred a number of times , but only in the older part of the house and not in the more modern additions. I kind of pushed it back in my memories and one day talking with my oldest daughter she brought it up and described the same feeling and sight. My ex wife had never told her nor anyone of those occurrences other than myself. It was very odd. |

I've had a bunch. The one that is the most entertaining is: I'm living in a very small resort town on the Mediterranean Sea. I lived there permanently with my wife, but for 3/4s of the year, most of our apartment/condo building was empty give or take the odd visitor. It was a fairly new construction, probably built in the 1990s. It was built on a steep cliff overlooking the ocean, so each condo had about 1/2 of their ceiling shared as the floor of the people above. After a little while there, my wife and I would notice quiet piano music coming from upstairs. We didn't think much of it. After a while it was a little annoying because it was ALWAYS the same set of tunes, without any variation whatsoever, but all things considered, they were apparently great neighbors because we neither heard nor saw anything else from them. We moved in during the Fall, so again, the building was basically empty. As Spring rolls around, more people start to move back into the building, either for a vacation or as they lived there part time. One day we come across a "new" (to us) neighbor outside on the stairs on the side of the building leading from our condo at the bottom up to the road above. We say hi, he asks us which condo is ours, how long we've been there, etc. He's been an owner for quite a while and knows most of the permanent owners. Somehow the conversation came around to "have you met anyone else here yet?" We replied that we hadn't, and in fact the only other person we knew of was our upstairs neighbor, because we could hear them from time to time. Our new acquaintance had a puzzled look come over his face. "Really?" "Yeah," we replied, "We hear them playing piano in the afternoons sometimes." Silence for a while. "The lady who lived there died about a year ago, her kids live in Germany and never come, I actually am helping them keep the place kept up until they are ready to sell it, but no one has been there for a while. It's completely empty in fact. But she was a piano tutor...." That one was pretty wild. (The piano music kept on for the remaindered of the time we lived there, which was about 4 more months.) Another one is finding a silver dollar coin randomly on my birthday in my house after I'd lived there for about 3 years. I bought the home new, know exactly what I moved in with and saw the entire house empty. It's a near impossibility that it just appear. It doesn't sound that wild, except my grandfather used to always, without fail, give me at least one silver dollar coins on my birthday. That was his "thing." |

Worked security at a "mega church" in Las Vegas for a few years. We had a team of about 10 guys. Ill start by saying every ghost event is near the kids 2 story building (Basecamp) where they have classrooms. That building was where that church had funerals because the church was built in such a way there was no way to get a casket down to the front of the auditorium. In fact my gf in 2008 had her funeral in that kids building. Locking up at night with 2 guys that both would see and hear things. One time I'm standing in the middle of wide open courtyard talking to another guard and we both hear "I see you"...clear as a bell, nobody is on campus. Another time we locked up and cleared the entire campus...we get back into our vehicle and see a person on the 2nd story just watching us..we just walked that entire building and locked it up...no way anyone was around...from the walkway on the 2nd floor you could see a mile in any direction. I asked the other guard what he wanted to do and he said nothing....we both knew it wasn't a person. Another night we were inside arming the alarm and both of us saw a shadow run by us. Again....we check every room and nothing. We both saw it. We armed it...the building has motion detection...it never went off the next hour we were locking up the other buildings. The best was about 6 of us experienced things and knew we weren't crazy...Ryan though wasn't convinced. Ryan was a huge guy, 6-4 230 lbs. He kept calling us nuts and saying we were making up stories. Well Ryan found out soon enough. So on Saturdays we had a 4pm service and a 6pm. The 4pm Basecamp was open and kids running around everywhere. Before the 6 started Basecamp was armed (with motion detection) and nobody was allowed in. So halfway through the 6pm service Ryan comes on the radio and says we need to get the people out of Basecamp. I tell him on radio nobody is inside as I personally locked every door and armed it. Now there are about 8 of us on campus and everyone can hear this conversation. Ryan says "I can clearly hear kids laughing and tables and chairs being moved around....they are having a party in there". All 8 of us come to the big tinted glass double doors hes at, I peek in and show him the red light...its armed. He says open it...he saying he heard many voices yelling and lots of running around. We open the door...nothing. lights off, we had to disarm the alarm. Not one table or chair were out of position. He was freaked out to say the least. I worked there for over a year after that and Ryan would never go near Basecamp at night again...no matter how many of us were with him. He would just walk the other way. The pastors got wind of what we were seeing and hearing and did a 3 week series on "The Supernatural". They prayed over the building and it seemed to help as the incidents became less and less. |

Actually, a couple of years after I posted this story, I saw one. And again a few months ago. My girlfriend lives in an apartment that is apparently haunted by one of these black shadows. Several tenants have seen and talked about it, apparently it moves around to different units within the complex, she has seen it once. And one of her friends there has seen it, as well as an apparition of a young girl. One night sometime in late 2022 or early 2023 I was sitting on the couch in her apartment while on my laptop, she was asleep, and it was dark in the room except for a small night light in the hallway between the living room and the bathroom. I could see clearly down that hallway from where I sat, and I saw the shadow of something moving down the hallway and toward the bathroom, it looked like a person's shadow, but no one was there. Last summer she changed apartments (same complex, about 30-40 yards away from the old unit and a floor up, the unit has the exact same layout as the previous.) And maybe 2 months ago, I'm on the couch again, on my laptop, while she's asleep. There is a folding room divider between the couch and the dining area and a standing lamp on the other side of the divider which is turned on. I'm facing the kitchen/room divider and I catch something out of the corner of my eye coming from the hallway which is to my left, and I look up, and see clearly this black thing, moving toward my right on the other end of the divider, it was about as tall as the divider but didn't reach above it (about 6ft) and it vanished before coming out the other end of the divider, where I would have been able to see it completely. The experiences don't really frighten me; it's just something that I can't explain. |

My wife and I went to the Prescott Bluegrass Festival yesterday and spent the night at the historic Hotel St. Michael, located right in downtown. Built in 1901, the hotel has a reputation for being haunted—especially the third floor. We stayed in a third-floor room and dropped off our bags before heading out to enjoy the music in the park. When we got back to the room later that evening, we found the bathroom faucet turned on full blast, even though it was definitely off when we left. Kind of a really mild story and it might have an explanation but this is a first for me in having any kind of experience like this. Many years ago my wife walked under and old live oak tree in Natchez, MS and she felt a physical chill even though it was blazing hot and humid outside. Come to find out later that it was the hanging tree in the courthouse square. |

What you are describing is "Shadow People" and they are one form of "hitchhiker" that latches on and follows people for years/decades after having a chance encounter with some other paranormal thingys which aren't well defined. Documented is people who have seen a UFO are more likely o see another, but not sure if that is hitchhiker, being more alert for what to see, or sometimes lying about it for attention. Though the latter part, which is what many people jump to just doesn't make sense. CEOs and other professionals pulling down mid 6 digit incomes don't just decide to prank the world when they talk about experiences, far too much to risk. The stigma around them and seeing how other people who have come forward have been treated does a good job of discouraging most others from saying anything at all. |

I'll try and keep the story as short as possible: Had my gf sleeping over one weekend, during the summer, and we had the bedroom windows open while we slept. I woke up suddenly about 2-3am to my gf screaming in distress in her sleep "she can see us!!" or "she's watching us," something like that, then she stops and its dead silent, even outside. My heart was racing and adrenaline going, and I realize that my entire room is lit up with red light. It was as bright as sunlight, just red, coming from my window. The house next door is very close to mine, about 10-12 feet from my window to the side of their house, and it's a two-story home. So, no stray light ever reaches my window from outside other than daylight, so I believe this light was above my house. I started to get out of bed slowly and wanted to open the blinds to see where the light was coming from, but as I got up, the light sort of "lifted" from the room and it went back to dark. I moved quick to pull the blinds up and looked out the window and couldn't see anything. A few seconds later, the crickets and all the other insects started chirping again. In spite of that I was able to fall back asleep relatively quickly, like nothing happened. Then the weirdest part for me, I wake up late in the morning and my gf says she's sorry for waking me up earlier, and I asked what she meant by that? She said she forgot to turn off her 6am alarm and it woke me up. She said I shot up out of bed and started looking around the room and my body was trembling, but I didn't say a word to her. She kept telling me its ok, go back to bed. Then I laid back down and went back to sleep. That last part I don't remember at all, and I don't have any history of sleepwalking. I never told her about the red light until years later and it still scares her whenever I mention it. Come to think of it, the first time I saw a shadow person was after this experience with the red light took place, I think only months after. |

Our last house was two stories. I had an office downstairs and I worked there during the day. One day I heard my wife walking around upstairs, figured she took the afternoon off, went up to see her and the place was empty. I didn't just hear creaking, house settling noises. There were distinct footfalls. This happened regularly. Sometimes the cat would go upstairs hoping to beg for treats. I just lived with it. Otherwise, there were no weird happenings at that house. |

Read some books on it, sometimes telling them to leave works, others ask nicely and others you are just stuck with. Telling them to leave might work because they think you aren't aware of them so letting them know they're not hiding well makes the "watchers" leave. Some say a prayer or leave in the name of Jesus with mixed results. Actually, all things mentioned have mixed results. Next time you se one tell them not welcome in your house and see if they leave or and out. |

Ok, how about something (or two) that happened within the last week? While I'm interested in all the supernatural topics, and have had a few odd things happen over my life, I can't say I'm a big believer. But 2 things happened Wednesday that has me scratching my head. Fell asleep in my recliner like I always do Tuesday night. There is a light in the corner of the room that pretty much stays on at night, but turned low. It's a tall halogen floor lamp. I woke up about 2:30 am Wednesday. The lamp which my recliner faces seemed dimmer than usual. Not just dim, but darkly tinted. I tried focusing a bit, and I could make out the rough shape of a person. It was between me and the lamp and was acting as a tinted window so to speak. I blinked a few times and then it was gone. Yeah, had to be dreaming that. I often fall asleep listening to the why files and the like, even though I hadn't that night. I went back to sleep. My phones screen protector was pretty scratched up, so I had ordered a new one from Amazon. It was delivered later that day. My eyes aren't what they use to be. The new screen protector had small circles I needed to see to line it up with the front camera les and the finger print reader to align the whole thing correctly. There is a 5 bulb candelabra type thing suspended over the dinner table. The previously mentioned halogen floor lamp is in a corner behind it. I turned both on and cranked the floor lamp up all the way as it is far brighter. I clean my phone screen, dry it, run the sticky dust remover over it. Then I peel the film off the screen protector and get ready to position it on the screen. The floor lamp begins a series of dimming, brightening, dimming, then goes out. We've had this thing for probably better than 20 years. The bulb blew. Not really a shock. Knowing we don't have a spare halogen bulb for it, I just continue and position the protector the best I can. Satisfied, I put it in its protective case and call it good. As I'm cleaning up the various bits of plastic and paper to throw away, I step behind the table to turn the floor lamp off. The bulb is blown, but I don't know if leaving the switched turned all the way up would be a bad idea, so I figure why not turn it off. I put my fingers on the switch. I go to turn it counter clockwise, which is the way it goes to turn it down until it clicks at the end of travel. It barely moved and clicked to off. WTF? I turned it clockwise, it clicked on, made about a half rotation and lit up. I turned it all the way to full brightness, a bit over a full rotation and it blazed as bright as before. Somehow, the rotary switch had been rotated from full on to nearly full off. Enough for the light to go off, but not enough for the off click. I was facing the lamp. There is no way anyone got to it and turned it off without me seeing them. It was 8 feet away and the switch is high up enough I can see it from where I was sitting. Weirded me out a bit. |

I've posted before, but I went hunting with a friend many years back in a town with Civil War connections. We went to a large area behind a church owned by a friend of my late father and got out there to set up very early. Our field of fire was facing an old, abandoned rail line and a hill as a backstop across a pasture. As the sun was coming up, my friend mentioned to me that there was a guy walking along the tracks and he yelled out to the guy to get lost. I could see what looked like a shadow of someone moving down the tracks, but when we looked at the area with binoculars there was nothing there..........I took a look but couldn't see anyone either. Turns out we didn't get lucky and left around 11 am...............went to a local store to get something to eat and drink and the guy behind the counter asked us if we had shot anything, and my buddy told him about the idiot that ruined the hunt. The guy got serious for a moment and asked us where we were hunting, and when we told him he started smiling and said "I see you met our friend". He then told us about the battle in the area and that the "friend" was a spirit that many had seen in the area. Lots of weird things have happened in that area over the years, and one of the houses in the area was used as a field hospital during the war and had many soldiers die there, and the amputated limbs were buried in a nearby field. |

I'm facing the kitchen/room divider and I catch something out of the corner of my eye coming from the hallway which is to my left, and I look up, and see clearly this black thing, moving toward my right on the other end of the divider, it was about as tall as the divider but didn't reach above it (about 6ft) and it vanished before coming out the other end of the divider, where I would have been able to see it completely. The experiences don't really frighten me; it's just something that I can't explain. I had another experience last week, same apartment. This time it wasn't quite shadow like, but a translucent black swirling cloud, about a foot "tall' and almost as wide, floating about 6ft off the ground. I just happened to look over toward the sliding glass door that leads to the balcony and saw this thing swirling, after I stared at it for a good 2-3 seconds, it quickly faded out until it was no longer visible, this took place between 11:30pm-12am. |
