Went to my son's Graduation from Drill Sergeant School at Ft Jackson and just got back home to Tennessee. Went to my email and was sad for a second, but hey, I got time, I'm sorta young.

There's some things I'll do differently when forging my next one, but the press sure made this easier than I thought is was going to be.

When I started from the bar, I aligned my flat dies and clamped them in place rather than just dropping my pins in them, and then squeeze, flip, squeeze, anvil to push the spine down, reheat. Repeat. Then I put a flat plate on my small wheel holder and ground the fronts to match.

Biggest thing I want to improve next time is pulling that heel back closer to the bolster. That seems like the most challenging thing to do. I might need to make a spring swage or something just for that.
