Tudor advice (Page 2 of 2)

I'm once again feeling wishy washy. On paper I should prefer the BB54. It is more practical as an every day watch, and is everything I thought I wanted. But the blue Pelagos FXD keeps growing on me. I've worn my current watch on a NATO and am surprised how much I like it. I think I'm going to go for the blue FXD. I think on the off chance I have to dress up, I can make it look decent on an admiralty gray NATO. My suits are all blue or gray, so the color works. Now I just need to liquidate my unused guitar and amp collection. I  Whichever one I buy, I'll eventually buy the other. |

For me the FXD could never “dress up,” and I tried it on a variety of straps including some nice leather ones. It will always be a sport watch to me and nothing more is possible. For me, it is the way the NATO passes over the lugs and is is line with bezel, just looks wrong as anything other than a sport watch. Truth is I’ve never been a huge NATO or Zulu fan, but with the right watch it might work,, which is why I’d think about it for the FXD GMT. To me, just a different aesthetic. |

If you like the Pelagos FXD's ( as I do also), consider the GMT model. It's METAS certified rather than "just" COSC, if you're into that sort of thing. With the FXDs you can swap out the 22mm bands for different colors, which I like also. But unless something has changed recently, it's hard to find the GMTs. Maybe artificial scarcity from Tudor, or maybe it's been discontinued. |

Question for the group. What are everyone’s thoughts on Tudor Royal watches? I’ve been seeing their 41mm offerings and they are growing on me. These have the day date complication. I’m specifically looking at the two tone silver dial or the salmon colors. Already the proud owner of a Blue Pelagos and No Date Sub, along with an Oris that is being worked on. |

And when I do, no one will care about a blue watch on an admiralty gray NATO. I will eventually get both.
