What a difference an AD makes. I took the other day off to do ‘wedding’ planning with the wife and she had made an appointment to pop in at the other AD nearby. I had been in there once before, but didn’t have any spend history with them. As it turns out, the sales lady was fantastic and totally on board with us doing watches to commemorate the day. My wife ended up going with a pretty specific Datejust configuration in 36mm. No problem at all - half down as deposit and they should have it in 1-2 months. I wasn’t planning on anything for me because I had already mentally moved on to a VC Overseas, but the two of them had me try on a few things for the fun of it. The Submariner got me. They can’t do deposits for Subs, so I’m technically only on “the list,” but the sales lady said I should have it a bit after my wife gets hers and in time for the ceremony. I guess the lesson here is that if you want to try the AD route, talk to a few. |

I got my Pepsi from my AD. They got if for me 8 months after I asked for it. I am a very good customer and they asked me what I wanted. I didn't ask them to register my interest. Not trying to flex, but trying to share how you get a watch like that. If your SA isn't saying, "what can we do for you? Is there something you're looking for?" you basically have no shot at a Pepsi. I'd just go to a grey dealer in your situation. Having said that, you "buy the seller not the watch." So I would buy only from a reputable dealer even if it cost me a couple grand more. Lowest price in this game is a great way to get scammed. |

I bought mine grey market a few weeks back for $20,500. I can’t stand the AD games in major cities. If you’re willing to share, I’m curious what year you got your pepsi, how long you’ve been dealing with your AD and your spend history? I see crazy posts on the rolex forums about guys spending $100K+ and can’t even get one. And then you’ll read about some guy walking in and getting one. It’s a crazy game sometimes. |
