It will be going on some dives this year. Might be taking my Advanced Open Water cert course in a few months then some cruise ship dives in Mexico.

The Beads of Rice bracelet on that Searambler 1500T.... where?

I have a Professional and Project Aware 2 that could use some BoR action vs. the psuedo-Engineer that came stock.

Much lighter, excellent quality. I didn't, but, if you use them, the end links will require some shaping.

I've been very pleased. And, shipping is amazingly fast.

Thank you.

I had a 300 and 1200... but both were too small for my tastes.

I love my 800Ti and 1500's... but the BoR bracelet is what I crave.

@urbankaos04

Thanks! It was my daily driver for years, but I’m giving some love to a few other pieces now.

It’s a Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 2201.50.00 in 42 mm. I bought it new in 2011 from an AD on the stainless band. It’s an ETA movement. Omega still offers a version with their proprietary materials and in house movement, but it’s spendy.

The strap is this one: Clockwork Synergy NATO

I’ve bought quite a few of their NATO straps. I’ll cycle through them in the summer. The watch looks great on solid black, desert tan, the black and grey on in the picture (my favorite), grey and even orange.

The company offers several varieties of NATO straps. This one is a standard type. I also have some in heavy duty and one or two British style. I couldn’t justify the money for an official Omega NATO when they came out with them. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the company and their service.

It is the panty line of Rolex. I hate the cyclops.

So "get a Sea Dweller".... yes except the height is not ideal for a daily and while I am a huge fan of the 16600 and SD4K the height kills it for me. I also happened to get this for a STEAL in today's market so my milsub project moved forward:

- remove cyclops
- 16610LV maxi hands
- satin finish on all polished surfaces
- bracelet stretch repaired by Rolliworks

I got a deal on this thing and decided to make a project out of it. A Rolex Sub that will be toned down to that tool watch realm vs a dress diver. Shit, they have the reputation today due to their professional designs of yesteryear. Sure no one seriously dives with one as they have computers and/or GShock. Why bang up a $8k+ piece for no reason.

Again, got this at a steal. It had been polished by it's previous owner and killed the camfers so I used my Bergeon wheels to give it a nice satin but not brushed tone - makes it look like a ubiquitous dive watch

So to your question, "but why?" -  I ask, why not?

I find a cyclops really detracting /  distracting from the face of the watch. Unless my eyes get so bad I cannot see the date, I don't find a want/need for one.

My eyes are terrible and I wouldn't be able to see the date without the cyclops. I still wouldn't want it.

Could care less what it's worth in terms of re-sale as I didn't buy it as an investment, bought it cause it was a project I wanted to do. If I felt inclined to have it restored back to stock I'd send it to Rolliworks and have them do their magic. Then you could post it as *mint* and get top dollar, that's what all the Grey's do. Also have a CW21 on speed dial if I need anything.

I also spray painted my FDE scar when I brought it home.

nobody will touch it when you go to sell it because a) it looks like a fake or b) you bubba'ed the crystal so what else did you futz with or c) why would I want to wear a Rolex that everyone who sees it on me will think it's a bubba'ed Rolex?

I'll give you $1.00 for it. That's a good deal considering it's $0.13 more than it's worth.

You are missing the point of my last post. I could put $800 into it and it would look new - as in brand new. DavidSW would then offer me in the $6500-7200 for it (I've sold a few modded then returned to OEM Rolexes recently) and I would still make a few $k profit on it.

The point here is I did exactly what I wanted. If I would of affected value negatively and it would cost me capital in the long run - wouldn't of done it.

Let's see:
- new 16610 OEM crystal: $180
- (optional) new OEM bezel insert: $100
- Case refinish/restore bevel, etc..: $500

Don't think this wasn't all thought through before I began. Also I'm the type that doesn't leave stock well alone, if I can't have fun with it why own it?

Took it down to 107 feet.

Anybody have a link to a Seiko repair/refurbish specialty shop?

I have a Sport 150 chrono/alarm that needs the crystal replaced.

I, too, favor the dive watch look.
There are some fine examples in this thread!

Never mind...I just found the Seiko repair thread.

He has a great watch exactly how he wants it.

Many use their watches instead of preserve their condition.

My kids will inherit a Rolex Sub, Seiko 6309, Seiko 6105, and Arnie that have been on target with TIC objectives and not in pristine condition.
They can be kept as is or serviced/refurbished.

So can his.

Not my money, not my watch.

Yes, if he did a bubba beyond repair on a rare, classic watch, car, or fun I would feel a pang or loss, but still not mine.
