After doing a little research, I may have to scoop up a HydroConquest auto. Does anyone have one? Pros/cons? |

I've been looking reeaaaalll hard at the Chrono version. Bang for the buck there seems pretty solid. (and I love chrono divers)
Like any of the other "mid" brands, they seem to offer good quality for the price. You are getting a solid movement in a good case and not paying *quite* the same name tax as you would for Rollie, Omega, Panerai, etc... |

The more I look into it... the more I like the HydroConquest auto.
It is right at the edge price wise of where I consider a 3 handed (modified) ETA2824 based watch to be 'worth it'... once I go over a grand, I strongly prefer an in-house movement or at least something more fancy than the 2824. I like that it isn't a direct clone of any more widely known design. It has aspects, but it isn't a direct homage or clone. I like the 300m water resist a lot. I enjoy the Steinhart autos and the vintage military is a very tempting one to me as I love the old red sub. I know the HydroConquest is about double the price, perhaps even a bit more.. but it may be worth the price difference. Now the column wheel auto chrono Hydro Conquest... yeah... want. |
