NICE!
I'm really starting to like Omegas. I posted a pic of my Speedy 3570.50 in another thread. I have to admit that the space/NASA connection weighed heavily on my decision to buy a Speedy. I can still remember a time when the only object orbiting the earth was the moon. |

My wife and I picked this up for me earlier this year. It's a 232.30.42.21.01.003. http://i973.photobucket.com/albums/ae216/amstrazz81/94F31151-88A1-4BD3-8864-0A49D85AF81B.jpg I'm absolutely in love with it. I sold my Lum-Tec and I consider selling my Stowa at least once per week. I wanted a PO for years and this hasn't disappointed. I would like to add one more to the collection, a saphire sandwich on leather 3873.50.31. It's probably a couple of years down the road. Definitely a sweet looking watch. |

But I figure it this way, I buy my wife lots of jewelry - between birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries..... A watch is the only piece of jewelry I wear, so why not? and it is something I will pass to my son or grandson. |

Either way, I'm not knocking your choice. Enjoy it in good health!

I'm really starting to like the Speedmaster line. I'm trying to no buy myself one for my birthday. I told myself I'd stop buying expensive watches after my Super Avenger but dang it, that Omega is calling my name. Just do it! I have not regretted my Speedy Pro purchase once. I still remember the day I bought it. Home on vacation and took a trip into Cincy to look at a Tag and Omega at an authorized dealer. Once I held the Omega it was a done deal. They even came down on the price after some mild haggling. It was, by far, the largest amount I have ever charged at once but I love the watch. Wearing it right now at work. Omega guys .......
Anyone here have any experience with or opinions on the Omega Caliber 3301 automatic, date, chrono movement? I've read mixed reviews, mostly concerning the early 3301 powered watches. All comments, pro or con would be most welcome. Thanks ETA: disregard. I'm no longer interested in the watch in question. |

The Speedmaster Professional is a manual-winder, ie. you must pull the crown out and twist it forward until it stops it does not wind itself automatically through movements when worn or when stored in a watch winder, correct. Correct, except that I would not wind it until it stops. |

The Speedmaster Professional with the Cal. 1861 movement is a manual wind watch. You do not pull the crown to wind the watch, just to set it. The crown only has two positions, the crown is pulled away from the case in order to set the time. The movement does not have a hack feature. I own a SMP and that's the way mine functions. |

Omega Seamaster Mk III B. Very rare made in the early 70's. My mom bought it for my dad only missing the box. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a368/DEG169/Watch/20120202_125715.jpg Your mother had good taste. and it's timeless, 70's vintage and it looks like it could have been purchased new last week. |

I know next to nothing about this watch. I inherited it from my grandfathers estate. http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f98/alphabavo/6002c4c49fcb993761db68d4f7683ce6_zps49394d4c.jpg Omega Seamaster dive watch. A nice timepiece and current versions look virtually identical. Been thinking about getting one myself. Looks well worn, but not abused; probably hasn't been serviced. Any idea how old the watch is? Still running? |

Still running? It had some issues for a bit, so I took it in for service, and the quoted me $500 for an overhaul. Not something I could afford at the time. Oddly enough, since they opened it to diagnose the issue, it's running fine. I'd still like to get it serviced, but I can't drop $500 at the moment. |

Worth it in the long run though. |

Can anybody date this watch Serial Number: 77800809 Reference: 3570-50-00 It appears that your watch has the laser etched globe on the case back, the best info I can find reports that Omega started to add the etched globe ~ 2008. The same source indicates that serial number range 777XXXXX started late 2009 - early 2010. I have the same Ref. & cal. SMP and the serial number is in the 777XXXXX range. I bought the watch BNIB around two years ago. As I understand it, Omega stopped publishing serial number information a few years back in an effort to thwart counterfeiting, so recent info is based on educated guesses promulgated by people in the industry. Hope this helps. |

A poster over on Omega Forums wrote: But 778 is very late, like 2014 type late and certainly one of the last few/several/run of 3570.50. Again though without going to the Omega Archive and requesting a $150 piece of paper you will never know. But rest assured you have one of the very last 3570.50. |

My Grandfather's 1959 Seamaster. I'm pretty certain that the band isn't original. I'd love to get a gator skin strap for it. It keeps decent time, but has very little reserve. http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/ab302/MP0117/IMG_1344_zps9vvsefgz.jpg http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/ab302/MP0117/IMG_1343_zpskavsybic.jpg That is a beautiful piece! |
