by doing the upgrade work themselves?
I have at least two DNA 30's that I would be wiling to convert to rDNA40's myself.  
I have seen a few places that sell the Evolv 40 boards but I have not seen any instructions as to how the conversion is made.

there is a guy on vaping underground that is doing certian dna30 clones and converting them to dna40 (you provide the chip)

you can also get a hana style dna40 clone for less than $50 on fast tech

I thought it pretty fair for a used chip I get for 39 bucks new
