| I got a Kitchen Aid range for a rental reconditioned from an appliance store. The new tenants can't seem to cook anything in the oven without burning it. Was wondering if anybody had any experience with these things. It's a little different than your regular oven being a digital control and convection option also. |

Ill give you a free bump for the wisdom of arfcom on everything under the sun..
For clarification - are they trying to use it as a convection oven or regular oven? Are the oven racks at the very bottom by chance? You may want to get an oven thermometer and make sure it is calibrated correctly.. Our oven will show about 25 degrees higher than the desired setting when it says it is preheated - BUT when the cook time is up the inside temp matches the setting temp.. Brian |
| I think they are using it as regular oven but no matter what they have tried to cook has been burned quickly. I printed out a manual which i hope will help. If not I'm going to have to get rid of this thing and get them something more simple. Don't want to spend the cash but in all fairness they can't be burning all their food. I hope the manual helps. |
| go to WalMart, buy a cheap oven thermometer (about $5-10) and put it in the oven. Figure out if the thing is functioning correctly. If it's burning everything without cooking through and through then the temp is climbing too high or the food is too close to elements. If it's cooking through and through then burning then they are idiots and need to take the food out when it's done. If the temp is climbing wildly then the (temperature sensor is bad, they are not expensive to change. |
