I came across this archived thread by BeetleBailey about a recipe for beer bread.
http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=1126183 I made some last night using Yuengling Bock and it turned out pretty good. A lot sweeter than I expected. Here's the recipe copied from the thread. Credit goes to BeetleBailey. Ingredients: * 3 cups flour (sifted) * 3 teaspoons baking powder (omit if using Self-Rising Flour) * 1 teaspoon salt (omit if using Self-Rising Flour) * 1/4 cup sugar * 1 (12 ounce) can beer * 1/2 cup melted butter (1/4 cup will do just fine) Directions: 1. 1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. 2 Mix dry ingredients and beer. 3. 3 Pour into a greased loaf pan. 4. 4 Pour melted butter over mixture. 5. 5 Bake 1 hour, remove from pan and cool for at least 15 minutes. http://www.food.com/recipe/beer-bread-73440 EDIT: Title change to conform to the forum rules. |

I've been meaning to try this one. Do it. You won't regret it. I use about half or just over half of the butter that the thread's recipe calls for to suit my tastes. Other than that I haven't changed a thing except the beer. I've tried it with just about everything. They're all good, with Amber Bock and Boulevard Wheat being my favorites so far. |
