Rugerlvr, you are one of THE most regressive and obtuse posters on this website. I have yet to read a single reply you have made on ANY subject matter that didnt make my eyes bleed.

Thank you TBS for getting it added! You rock

Do you destroy the image once you have it?
My card has info on it that gives us access to our GL website login and I'd prefer to black out a portion of my member number whilst leaving the raised seal, etc intact. |

Nevermind! I'm assuming the badges are not retroactive.

$24 is the price of the membership. Not having a pass to get in is like not buying a pool pass and having to stand outside the fence and watch everyone have fun, except there's no girls at this pool.
|
-edit- I'm a big dummy. I was looking at old posts and didn't see it showing. Of course it is there now!
Thank you! Dan. |

Dont have a valid dues card as I walked away from the lodge I was with this year to focus on career, and take a needed break. I notice this to be a trend. Makes me wonder if Grand lodge looks at these numbers, and wonders why so many guys cut and run after a year or two. Perhaps in a year Ill start visiting some other lodges to see how they are. I have some good memories from my early years at lodge for sure...

Hopefully the higher ups will see this trend and make some much needed changes or this organization is going to continue dying a slow, and painful death. If guys are going to put their time(which is valuable these days) into anything, they need to feel it is doing something they enjoy, obligated to, or feel is worthwhile. If this cannot satisfy at least one of these requirement's on a regular basis, guys are simply going to say screw it and leave. And on top of it all, they continue to raise dues to participate. Never enough money to pay rent, etc.
Certainly not trying to badmouth the organization. (I thought it was neat for a while too) But the fact remains that unless they make some changes to HOLD the interest of people coming in.......it will continue to die off. Probably not for another 2 or three generations but its not looking good. In the end, I appreciate the lessons and experiences of my time there. And still keep in touch with a few of the guys. But just could not validate the effort put into it for me personally. Of course that will vary from individual to individual. |

It’s disappointing to hear you are going through that.. I know what you mean though. At my old job and lodge back in Illinois, where I was raised, it was understood that work came first...so you could provide for your family and pay for things...like dues. Where I am at now I was catching flak for not being able to attend regulary...to the point where another brother in his sixties said, yeah family’s important, you’ve got a kid...I have 4 and 7 grandchildren and I still make it...I popped smoke at that point because I realized not all lodges/brethren are created equal. Hope everything works out for you.
