From my understanding that they are only a group of riders who happen to be masons not a sub group offshoot. They are active in all levels of masonry in my area.

The same is true in Texas. Our Grand Master has issued an edict against them.

In Indiana they are an approved sub body sanctioned by the Grand Lodge. In my opinion they don't always project the correct image. I had to mandate no leather my my lodge room when I was master. They were the reason for that.

Here, they're just a bunch of Masons who like to ride together. No organization. Just Brothers and friends whi ride.

I am a prospect for the Widows Sons here in Missouri, and I can guruantee we are nothing more than a group of Mason that like to ride. We have doctors, lawyers, and even a local tv personality. The group was founded by Brother Carl Davenport, who (IIRC) is a Christian.
I think with thte rise of shows like "Sons of Anarchy" any MC will be viewed in an ilk manner. We must remember we are Masons, and we can't cast judgement on what we don't understand. The WS are there to aide the Widows(and family) of Masons.

If all goes well, I will receive my patches and rockers Sunday.
