Any differences? Same creature? Depends on state of rot?
For the record I don't believe in zombies, I sure like the movies. Other than liberal zombies, those are real......and scary! |

They bear some similarities. They eat the same things (living humans), they're both undead, but that's about it.
A ghoul is generally thought of as being intelligent. Enough so that it could evade capture, strike when it best suits them and run when out numbered or facing an obvious losing situation. A zombie has non of those features. They are generally considered mindless, will always lash out at living human prey, will never run away and have no self preservation instinct. |

When i hear Ghoul i tend to think of a zombie, but kind of hunched over, with really long hair and considerably more decomposition.
Remember the Ghoulies?! the little green bald guy who popped up out of the pooper, then there was the giant green guy who looked just like the little green guy. he was summoned to gobble up all the little ghoulies, then he tried eating the little person so they took a teddy bear and a backpack, stuffed it with explosives and fed it to the big green ghoulie and he exploded....yeah. ande he caught that flying ghoulie and just swallowed it whole. |
