I would imagine having a revolver as a backup gun would be a nice extra. Not as likely to have a malfunction.

Well, you gotta use what you got.

It's not like there's military grade weaponry just laying around....

Even a single action revolver is better than throwing rocks.

There you go.

If I ever get besieged by Zack, I've got about 1k rounds of .38 spl full wadcutter
target rounds (from my Dad) I'm gonna use to punch perfectly round holes into
their heads from my second-story windows.

Lots of folks got wheelguns.

was just given a 22 magnum revolver, its so light and simple, if all goes well with initial "zed target practice" you bet yer ass that I will have it as a last resort come z-day....unless I happen upon a grenade

I have a Python, and it has a place in any type of situation. One has to learn how to shoot them in the DA way and do so accurately .

I carry a S&W M&P340 with Crimson Trace grips in my pocket almost everyday. I carry 7 extra rounds on a speed strip in the other pocket.

If anything those 12 rounds of 357 will be enough to get me to my truck where there is a G17 and extra mags waiting.

If you've got 50 Zs coming at you, average Joe can't reload a revolver in stressful situation as easy as a mag change.

Well, revolvers are not for yer average Z fighter. They're reserved for us seasoned gunfighters who like need the challenge to keep from been bored in a target rich environment like Z day.

Practice and muscle memory, I shoot a 6 gun in IDPA and can reload slightly slower then an average auto shooter.

I think revolvers are dead sexy but the math isn't there for this scenario

Rough math

Pistol 13 rounds - reload avg 2 seconds.
Revolver 6 -reload avg 3 seconds.

Pistol downtime 2 seconds for 13 rounds. Revolver downtime 6 seconds for 12.

Does this mean you dont keep it loaded? Or do you load half way through?

Okay, you have a glock 17 and only one magazine, same scenario, only worse, as you either have to load your weapon single shot, or start loading the 17rnds in the magazine.

I actually did that with a friend, he laughed when I got my revolver out, so I took the magazines off the table and left him the G17 and a box of 50rnds, enjoy .

He should have been grateful I didn't let him use my FN HP without a mag .

Wheel guns are for doofuses who can't use a gun normally...or seasoned pros who either need a backup or don't need to spray bullets everywhere to hit what they are aiming at. a bull barreled S&W 13-3 is a good example of a sweet wheelgun. It has a bull barrel and is used in LEO training many places as well as Glocks. Solid, smooth shooting and reliable. I had one that was well broken in and was hard pressed to tell if it was +P .38 or .357 magnum in the way it shot. It was hard to conceal as a backup though.....lol....I don't want to be throwing rocks and using my 'foraging crowbar' on zed heads if at all possible, if you know what I mean.

I would be more than happy to be stuck with my S&W 625 and a butt load of clips when Z-day happens. I love that gun. It's made me fall in love with the 45 ACP all over again.
