| Ok who out there has AMSTAFF's (Amer. Staffordshire Terr.). I got an 80lb lap dog named SHELBY like the car..... |
|
i dont see how people can look at those faces and think they are mean dogs.
i have met hundreds of amstafs/pits and the only ones i was scared of was one that was chained to a tree and one that was in his own yard when i walked by the fence. other than that they are all big teddy bears. |

Brody is a pound puppy and we are getting Bella from a Pitbull Rescue. Here's my old/first pit.. My ex-wife took him when we got a divorce. He was suppose to be full blooded, I know his mother was an Pit, but I think the father was a Lab. The supposed father was suppose was a black pit, but there was a black lab running around the premises too. He was 90 lbs. http://gallery.digitaldeviation.com/d/3412-10/DSCF0463.JPG http://gallery.digitaldeviation.com/d/652-2/DSCF0610.JPG That def looks more like a lab then a full blooded pit. Funny my black lab has a lil white on his chest like that too. |

Great, first the Northern dog thread, now this. I love AmStaff's too. FoxyHuntress wants a Dogo Argentino, a very similar looking dog to an AmStaff, but doesn't like any other pitbull looking dogs. She also won't tolerate German Shepherds. Girls are weird.

Ok here's an update for the last 2 weeks my "baby" 9 y/o Shelby suddenly came down with "MEGAESOPHOGUS" basically her throat is enlarged which makes for difficultty keeping food and water down and digesting. We took her to our reg vet and wanted to do all these tests, but I can't financally afford thousands of dollars worth of tests. So he recommended put her on a bland diet with plenty of fluids. I love my little girl to death and so do my kids. Our grandmother opened up a line of credit with the Vet ER in Langhorne, PA and $1200 and an overnight stay later she was doing better, but the vomitting has returned.
I try to give her the pills mixed in with a tiny bit of prescription canned "I/D" food and hold her up for 5-10 mins to help keep the food and water down, but it doesn't always work. She's had X-Rays (No blockage), Ultrasounds(same result),and blood work (normal ....mostly..) She's bringin up mostly SNOT-like material with a slight Bile tinge (Green) to it. Anyone out there a vet. My local vet (Banefield/Pet Smart) "Has no experience" dealing with her condition and I don't have any extra thousands lying around for every test in the book and hosp. stay until she's better. I already sold AR and that just covered the last visit and round of tests. Any advice suggestions welcome |

Just an update we had to put SHELBY down last night because she started to vomit blood at the vet's office and suffering from MEGAESOPHOGUS and CANCER growing in her chest. In the last month alone she dropped 20 lbs and was unable to keep food or water down.
We will all dearly miss you SHELBY 12/99 to 2/09 If someone can help me with a few pics I appreciate it. email me at [email protected] |
