I know arfcom has a lot of folks who have gsds

this is my 1st pure bread gsd, Thor,
He was a 1/2 german 1/2 american bred working dog. In the working dog community, he was considered a true hard dog temperament wise, a 1 handler 1 family dog, like a lot of military dogs, he was dangerous to everyone except people in my immidiate family, parents and twin sister that is. I had to be really careful with him.
I got him in '95 when I was learning to train police and tracking dogs at a working dog kennel.
I never had the slightest problem out of him with other dogs or cats, I could put a stray cat in his room and the cat could go up and step in front of him and eat from his bowl.
He passed away in july '03.

He's from Alabama K9, this is his Dad's Bio:

ETA: He's my 1st GSD....it's been a hell of a learning experience raising him but I couldn't ask for a better dog.

Here he is on "Guard Duty"

they say thanks. black and bi colored german shepherds are beautiful dogs. It's not uncommon for people to tell me though that they didn't know german shepherds could be all black like that. Then there's the all white 1s to.

Here is Maddie-

She was a great dog. She loved the kids and played with them alot.

That pic was taken a few month before she died. We were moving and I was boxing up the computer and she was watching me do it. Those brown spots on her legs was from a nervous habit she had. She would lick until they were raw.

The vet said that there was nothing we could do to stop her from doing it.

She died a month after we moved. Maddie was 12 years old then and was having a hard time getting around. Her hips were shot.

I miss her to this day.
