| I have a male cat and im looking for apartments as I am going to grad school, most land lords don't like the idea of cats as they say "the tend to spray". My cat is almost a year old, so basically when should I expect this to start, is there anyway to stop it/keep it from happening. I believe neutering will help but atm I don't have the money to neuter him as the vets in this area charge upwards of 400 dollars... |
$400 to neuter a cat ![]() ![]()
Wow, that is ridiculous, it is about $40, here in Northern CA... Is your cat an inside cat or outside cat, or both? If he is an inside cat, if you just get him fixed he shouldn't spray, none of mine ever did... As for timeline, he is about at the age where he will start to mark his territory, right now. Edit: I'll add that if he isn't fixed, and is an inside cat, he most likely will not spray unless he starts smelling other cats invading his turf. I have a few friends that had male cats that were not neutered that never sprayed but they never left the house/apartment and had no other pets in the home. |
