Yesterday I had to do something I really hate for the second time in just 6 months, putting down one of my dogs: KC
Here is a picture of her when she was younger doing one of her favorite things, playing catch in the back yard:
She was suffering and in pain, we just realized it was her time. We got her 11 years ago from the local shelter and she was probably 2-3 years old even then.
It really hit me that I am so used to coming home to the happy, wagging tail of a dog when I got home from work today and nothing, just an empty house.....
It is hard, no licks to the face or rubbing up against me trying to get me to scratch their back.
I am decided that I am going to the local humane shelter and getting another dog.

I swear she looks like she was smiling in that picture. Proof how happy she was with you.
I'm so sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear. It was always tough for me when my family lost a dog. What kind of dog was she? She looked beautiful.
