Just finished LONE SURVIVOR.. That book was pretty good. Just got started on INTO THE FIRE by MOH recepiant Dakota Meyer. Just thought I would red it becuase he is also a KY boy. Next I think I will read LIONS OF KANDAHAR. I am really into the Afghan War right now.

I just ran across a Ben Bova novel from 1976, THE MULTIPLE MAN.  Seems fun so far.  Set slightly ahead of 1976 - no year given - with some wild guesses on technology and some sort of plot with multiple clone of the President.

I finished 13 Bullets by David Wellington, it was horrible. I was really surprised it sucked because he wrote Monster Island which was amazing.

I'm burning through a Hymn Before Battle right now it reminds me a lot of the Halo books.

True.  The first two I read short sections to ponder upon throughout the day. #3 is to learn more about economics, but a dry read. The last two are for my thesis work.

No Life for a Lady.  It's written by a woman who grew up on the New Mexico frontier.  Interesting if you're into cowboy history.

The Panther by Nelson DeMille. I'm about 3/4 of the way through it and its pretty good. The main character, John Corey, is a huge smartass, so its a pretty funny read at times.

Almost done with K J Parker's "Engineer Trilogy."  Moving on to "To Shake Their Guns in the Tyrant's Face" and "1776."  Both have been on my shelves forever, but I've just now found the time to get to them.

I read THE CUT by George Pelecaos.  I'm now reading THE GENTLEMEN'S HOUR by Don WInslow.  Winslow is an author that makes it look easy.  Makes me think, "Hell, this flows so well how difficult can writing be?"

The Aftershock Investor by Weidemer, Weidemer & Spitzer.   The authors predicted the real estate bubble bursting along with other bubbles. They warn of the credit bubble, govt spending bubble, student loan bubble, retirement bubble, dollar bubble (QE 1-3), bursting and everything becoming unhinged.

Just finishing up Aeternum Ray.  Great Sci-Fi Read that came out this week. Mind-bending singularity stuff that is oddly easy to relate to. I really like it.

Its a great read for Science Fiction fans, especially if you like Asimov or Arthur C. Clark; http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A9G4N62/

FACES OF THE GONE by Brad Parks.  Newspaper reporter in Newark chases a news story about a quadruple homicide.  Publishes a story and more people get killed.  Humorous and interesting look at journalism and Newark.

I listened to Steve Hockensmith's Holmes on the Range.  A humorous detective novel set in 1892 Montana.  Brothers Old Red and Big Red started reading Sherlock Holmes stories and Old Red is enamored with Holmes and starts investigating some ranch mysteries that turn into murder.  A neat series with - I think - four books in the series.

Currently listening to The Mark Inside: A Perfect Swindle, a Cunning Revenge, and a Small History of the Big Con by Amy Reading.  About an hour in.  A Texas farmer in the 1919 is swindled in a con and looks to catch the guys responsible.  The amazing thing about a well run confidence scheme is that the victim never knows he has been conned.
