Richard was a great guy, I knew him for a few years before he convinced me to send him a resume. It didn't work out the first time but a few years later, I went to Chalmette and got to work with him for a brief period. I was in the same group as he retired. He was an extremely smart man. For those of you that knew him, he kinda had Energizer Bunny energy. Always on the go. Prior to his retirement management started an initiative where relatively new hires could pick a manager or senior guy to go to lunch with. I chose Richard. He took me to a gun store to pick up some stuff he ordered, then we went and ate lunch. He also loved his old 4 runner, but probably not as much as his Bronco. I still remember him saying how much he loved his wife's LC he bought right before retiring. He stated "It's got the softest leather seats I've ever seen" He will be missed. |

I've been thinking about him all day, we really need to start a wall of memorial here, and maybe even a small fund to send flowers to the families of the lost. We all spend so much time here together; it would be nice to be able to let their loved ones know that we all cared about him. I sent flowers through the site listed, with a note saying he made this little site we call home a much better place, and how much he'll be missed. It would just be cool to have notes from many people letting her know we care. I'm sure the above isn't possible but would be nice. |

If we know anyone who can reach out to family, I’d love to send something. Preference would be to allow family to have a nice dinner on behalf of us, create good memories and extend some appreciation for his time here. |

Honestly not a bad idea, not necessarily to raise a bunch of money but more as a way to let their families know they had an impact on so many people. |
