I am very sad to hear this. He was a fine Christian man and is with our Savior now. He is more alive now than he has ever been before. "Well done thy good and faithful servant". God's grace to his family and friends. Prayers for your loss and grief. But as the family knows we shall see him again in Heaven. Thank you God for our blessed hope of being in your presence forever. Good ol' Hard Shall. My fellow Primitive Baptist in the religion fourm many years back. He was a calming force in some rowdy conversation. No doubt that was somewhat the result of his theological understanding of grace. I'm not sure I verified this with him, but little peek at his avatar and screen name. Hardshell was the name given to Primitive Baptists during their split from mainline Baptists many years ago. "Hard Shall Baptist" based on their focus on the shalls found in the Bible. (KJV) Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8 The idea is that if a word of God includes a "shall"... You can bank on it being or becoming true. Of course Calvin from the comic literally took the name from John Calvin the great theologian who pointed to the Sovereign nature of God that rules over even the hearts of men. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. John 10 Memory of Hardshell I'll spend some time in my old KJV looking up those hard " shalls. " |
