He does all things for our good.  While I trust God, it's sometimes hard to grasp how that plays out in our lives.   But one thing is for sure; if you pass away, and we all will some day, you will be in Bis presence.  That's an amazing thought to consider.  While you are traveling this road, I will keep praying for you and your family.

Bo,

You are one tough MFer.  Thanks for keeping us in the loop.  I'm glad you felt better after getting some nutrition.  I think that's positive news that you finally have some fuel to fight back now.  Ask them to keep it coming and to do as much as they can to keep you nourished and rested.  Focus on nourishment and rest.  I believe if you do that, your body can gain the strength it will need to fight the side effects of the chemo and to keep you going until the tumors shrink and hopefully go away for good.

How does this chemo treatment work?  Is there any way they can target the affected areas instead of poisoning you everywhere with the chemo drugs?  Have your doctors tried contacting the Cleveland Clinic for a second opinion and to see if they've had any success using specific, targeted treatments?  I'm a big believer in thinking outside the box and controlling your own destiny.  Take as much control over your situation as you can.  One thing I've learned in my short time on this earth is there are a LOT of medical professionals that just go through the motions, and although they might seem to care, they can be limited in their ability to think critically or actually care enough to truly fight for you in the way you would or a family member would.  I say question everything and seek the very best treatment this earth has to offer.
.
Also, your faith in God and your attitude towards your situation is truly inspirational!

YOU CAN KEEP FIGHTING THIS AND WIN!

I'll be praying for you and waiting for the next update.

I was admitted to the hospital. After a couple of days and many tests, the doctors believe the cancer is causing the vomiting. Looking at the PET scan, the cancer is spread in a way similar to birdshot would be if I would have been shot in the stomach. They cannot remove it because there are so many small tumors spread out. I will be taking chemo to hopefully shrink the tumors and keep the cancer at bay.

One of the biggest obstacles to overcome in order to get chemo is to get some nutrients in me. They have been feeding me through my IV and today they put a feeding tube in. The tube was placed in a way that I will not vomit up the food that goes down it. In fact, they crushed a pill and mixed it with water then gave it to me via my new tube.

I feel so much better tonight after getting some nutrition. I had hit 110lbs on Monday morning, but my doctors were able to stop the decline and it seems I have gained a pound.

God is good and he is still in charge and on the throne. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. It means so much to me.

Bo

I am not 100% certain but based on the e-mail address he used to register it sure looks like him.
Rest easy Bo.

Update on all of this:

Sorry for not doing this sooner, but for those wondering, this is Bo's daughter. I only made this account to give an update and answer any questions that people may have. I found this thread when I searched myself, as one does, and decided to give an update since you all deserve this.

The stuff that ruffhowzer posted is true, he died of cancer on October 11th, 2023. He passed peacefully in his sleep, and is hopefully up in heaven, probably flying airplanes or messing around with other stuff. He wasn't buried, but instead cremated, and we set his ashes free where he requested; at an old cross on a hill near his childhood town.

While I didn't have a great relationship with him, I will say he was brave and enthusiastic. He battled cancer for three years, even as it came back. In his words, he "went out of this world the same way he came in; kicking and screaming covered in blood." Metaphorically, of course, but he fought hard right until the end.

I want to thank those who were his friends on here, even if I never knew you. I also want to give my condolences to you, for praying for him and giving him strength.

Thank you all, from Brianna.

Also, as a funny bonus to you all, here is my favorite photo of him. It's hilarious without context, and even better with context.

I actually had to ask my brother for the context since I didn't know, but this is from when he worked at dispatch. He was "hanging" his friend with a vacuum, which, yeah, checks out.
