Damn!!
He and I chatted via email and IM regularly for a while when I was active in the HTF and the shooting sports.
Good man, big loss.

Rest In Peace.
Erik was my cycling partner. Great guy. Soldier, Marine, police officer, who adored his wife and daughter.

So long, my friend. Rest in peace.

I'm very sad for Erik's family today. This was inevitable, and he loved them both very much. They were his world.

He was a great guy. I've only met him a couple times but he is highly revered in our AO.  I'm not sure if he had gotten sick and had complications or if the brain tumor finally took him out.  I didn't realize he was on here but it's not surprising at all.

He made a point to reach out to me during a very low point I had a few years ago.  A good man.

We are diminished.

He was an amazing person that will be missed by many.

We met through ARFCOM and quickly became good friends.   In the short time (~12 years) we knew each other we shared a few meals, celebrated a few holidays together, and many war stories along the way.  A fellow member here contacted me a couple weeks ago to say that hospice had been called in.  I did not get a chance to visit in time.  I did not get to say goodbye to a man I highly respected.  For that I am deeply regretful.

RIP Brother

I didn't know it had gotten that far.   He usually posted FB pics of him getting his treatments, or something about his family.  I didn't know him personlly that well other than through acquaintances.   He taught a short handgun class I attended once which is how I met him.  Stayed in contact through those channels.  Before he had the car crash that led to the tumor discovery.

I don't want to get into details, but the tumor found after his accident did not take him out.

Oh no! No wonder he hadn't responded to any recent emails.

This is terrible.

I first met Erik online via Glock Talk. Back in 2004 he invited me and another state constable to an IDPA-style law enforcement match at the Roanoke PD's hilltop range facility. Great guy. Had a major fun weekend.

We didn't communicate much after he re-joined the military but I was in touch with him about 6 months ago and he told me about his cancer being in remission...and that he was going to embark on another career path.

Damn, I am so sorry to hear of this.
