I've got a buddy who will be in and out of the hospital for about 6 months. It'll be a week in, then 6 weeks out progression.

He's got one of my acoustics, and a tuner, and I want to point him to a basic, not boring, not frustrating guitar lesson set of vids.

Can anyone suggest something? He has zero experience.

What is his goal? I'm assuming he just really wants to strum some chords?

If so, something like this will work well.

Free lessons with videos hosted on his site.  Has some very good content from absolute beginner on up.

Also tell him about www.all-guitar-chords.com, it will let you map out chords and scales on a fretboard pictogram according to different tunings, ect. It's a very useful tool.

This sounds like a great way to turn lemons into lemonade.

If he is interested in learning the instrument and actually has time then I would get A Modern Method For Guitar 1 & 2 and also start working through Mel Bays Complete Harmony, Theory And Voicing.
