I had forgotten I had this little thing until I found it digging through a bag of old cables. It's an original Rockman X100 headphone amp, used on countless rock and metal albums in the '80s.

I bought it used for $10 in the mid '90s so I could practice late at night without waking my parents. I didn't care for the sound even then, but it was OK for practice.

You can hear Rockman tones on albums by eveyone from ZZ Top to Def Leppard to Huey Lewis to Megadeth to Don Henley to Judas Priest.

Why spend thousands on a huge rack rig when you can get the same soulless, overly saturated, overly compressed, overly chorused sound from a box the size of a club sandwich?
