Any pianists out there?
We recently bought a digital piano so that my daughter can begin lessons. It's nice, and has MIDI and USB hookups. I took piano for a couple years as a kid, so I know the basics, but it's been a long time. I would like to take it up again. I'm looking for an adult course thatyou might recommend. I'm not picky about the method: could be books/CDs/DVDs, or interactive through the computer. But I am looking for something that can give me some results quickly (even if it's "fake", or simplified versions of songs) so I can play a little to keep me motivated. I realize any instrument is hard work, but I's like to know a few songs early, and build from there. I'm never going to be a classical pianist, just want to have some fun and maybe accompany my older kids who play guitar. Any recommendations? |

We have both children taking piano lessons from a good teacher. 1/2 the class is theory and 1/2 is application/playing. It's not terribly expensive($140/mo for both) but I will say it is money well spent. My wife has a long ago piano background possibly like you and she is able to coach at home which helps and she enjoys more as an adult. Actual lessons for your daughter will benefit both of you imo. scbb |
