I have an old Washburn body and neck from the 80's that I put together with whatever was in my spare parts bin about 20 years ago. Went to change the strings yesterday and realized that one of the saddles on the tremolo was cracked...I effectively now have a 5 string guitar Went to the local shops yesterday....no one had a single saddle I could purchase...and no one had one in a parts bin in the repair shop. Looked on ebay...I can get a floyd rose saddle for like $15, a chinese cast copy of a floyd rose trem for around $35, or the real thing for at least $75-100. The guitar is worth maybe $25....not something I am going to invest in. The pickups and original FR trem are worth more than the actual guitar
Guess it will sit in a closet until I find a parts guitar for a decent price one of these days. Now I am relegated to acoustic for the immediate future until a new electric finds itself to my home. |

Thanks...that is a great site...will remember for that for the future. They have the exact part...but with shipping the saddle comes out to over $26. (the guitar isnt even worth that much) I'll probably give in and order the darn thing at some point...if it was a decent guitar I wouldnt think twice, but this axe has a cracked body, cracked neck, intonation is shot.....I kept it more for sentimental value than anything...almost not worth fixing. (but I'm a sucker and will probably fix it some day. Spent the last few days contemplating buying a decent guitar...might go look more seriously on the weekend. (or sooner if I can generate some cashflow) Thanks again for posting...that is a great resource for parts. |

Wow, I didn't know that they were that bad on shipping. I guess I'll hold off on that same part for my Ibanez (I snapped the crappy cast saddle on the Lo-TRS term that they put in mine).
Meh, maybe it's just a good enough of an excuse to put an Original Floyd Rose in it.

That's stupid expensive shipping. Try calling them and ordering the part over the phone to see if the shipping is anywhere near that much or if you can talk them into USPS shipping instead. I've ordered from AllParts in the past and was always very happy with what I got. |
| What string is it on? I believe they are different by string. I have an old black Schaller made Floyd saddle laying around. It was the low E saddle. It has a bit of the finish coming off of it, but it is totally sound. I'll mail it to you for free if you can use it. |
