What kind of insurance should I buy for one of the two following scenarious

1) I rent from FBO's

2) I borrow a buddy's plane.

You need renter's insurance. Pretty common. YOU are not covered in the FBO's aircraft, the FBO is covered if you crash their plane. Their insurance company can go after you.

Interesting thread. Thanks for getting me thinking about this. I am going to let my buddy borrow my aircraft. I suppose I should insist he cover my aircraft. I wonder if he can do this under his current policy.

renters is cheap....around 300-500. Not bad. I have two planes with full coverage though, much more expensive.

As long as he qualifies, you can usually add up to 4 people to 1 policy with no change in $$.
