Full rudder in the direction of the spin? Maybe reverse thrust too? Claiming they hit something.

I didn't know Dornner made UBoats.

I don't think it sank ;)

That seems like a lot of load to put on an airframe, especially intentionally.

Its called a water loop. Dude landed way too flat! Point of impact should have been back by the step. Instead his point was way up by the nose so the plane wants to swap ends to obtain equilibrium! Here is another one caught on film.

Why full rudder sane way as loop? Just along for the ride?

That's a heck of a way to slow down fast. A bit hard on the airframe though

In the slowmo of the Donier water loop, rudder was with, not against the yaw.

It sure as hell didnt help! The only way to counteract a waterloop is to pull back on the elevator to move the center of rotation aft of the CG.................. I think I got that right! I highly doubt that the rudder on that plane or any for that matter has enough authority to counteract that amount of yaw.

It did just what it was supposed to do when put on the water too fast.

Touchdown speeds on a boat are not recommended, they are mandatory.

I love that plane, I hope nothing too bad happened to her and she'll fly again.  There are no more of the type flying today.

Why full rudder sane way as loop? Just along for the ride?

If you read the description in the original video is sound like it was done on purpose.
