Just smoked a bowl of Yorkshire 1oz from "The Briary" in Birmingham, AL...in my new pipe!
It's a Calabvest with a flat bottom. It looks cool, smokes well, and was only $35! I am working on getting it broken in slowly but surely now.

Glad you found a pipe your happy with.   Love the color of the stem.   Wanting to smoke a bowl but it's way to windy outside, and I refuse to smoke inside.

We must live in the same neighborhood, wganz.  I've driven past tobacco town quite a few times, but never had the chance to stop in there.  my local tobacco place is sir elliots on preston just south of 121.

Sorry, I have to ask, but when you say real Dunhill 965, is it Dunhill, Murray's Dunhill, or Orlik Dunhill 965?

Either way, both tasty choices.

I am under the belief that it is Murray's bulk.  I got it from a tobacco shop in Charleston.  They said the jar was years and years old and "just for decoration".  I had to rehydrate it from so dry it would crumble to dust.

Cheers.  The Murray's stuff is quite good.  Regretfully, I've only got a couple of tins left.  Most of my bulk is Orlik, which is good, but not nearly up to the Murray's.

Today, a little SG Skiff Mixture for me.

Sir Elliots Tobacco, its in the shopping center on the southeast corner of Preston and 121.  I've also seen a Blend labeled aristocrat at Up in Smokes around the area.  I think its the same blend.

This evening I smoked an old blend I got from back in college called mountain mist.  It is another cavendish blend ( at least I think) it was kind of dried out.  I will have to take a swing at trying to rehydrate it.

These days, I simply put it in a mason jar with a few drops of water, shake well, and check back in a couple of days.

My reward to myself for putting an automated sprinkler system in the garden will be to pull out some Dunhill Nightcap.  Its an English blend of Virginia, Latakia, and Perique that I picked up at Pauls Pipe Shop in Flint.  I'm fairly sure it had been in there stock since the 60's or 70's because the more recent tin's of it don't taste anything like the older blend.
