If your storing a variety of cigars leave the cellophane on, if your storing a box together take them off.

It also just depneds on your taste.

Fixed it for ya!

This subject comes up about once a month with compelling reasons for on AND off.

It usually goes 50/50 which is what you will find in the industry itself

My question is,

If cellophane is THE way to go why dont they ALL have cellophane?

It is because they are packaged for individual sale by most of the brands. A few of the higher brands and some smaller ones have lines that are not wrapped. But for the most part they are packaged for individual sale.

If they come in cello I leave it on, if not I don't think about it.  Cello breathes so it really doesn't matter, unless you plan on storing cigars with different wrappers touching each other for years, then you may really want to leave it on.

I store with cello on.  I left four cigars in an Otter Box with a gel pack and forgot about them for a month.  When I opened the box to pack for a trip last week there was a little condensation on the outside of the cello but the cigars were fine (I left them out for a day).

All of them smoked fine (Old Henry & Ashton Cabinet).

When I first started buying cigars I would de-cello prior to placing in the humidor.  At some point I asked the same question and the person who answered said "it doesn't matter".

If you are storing the cigar loose the Cello will keep the foot and wrapper from getting damaged.

If a stick comes with cello on it, I leave it on and just cut the ends of the cello off.  I'm a little paranoid about the breathability of the cello....and the marriage of flavors between sticks that touch.  I've been doing this routine since the late 90's and it seems to be working for me.

Off - it's better for the cigar's aging. If you buy flavored cigars please don't put them in the same humidor as the good ones.

I leave the cello on but I cut the estra flap off even with the foot of the cigar.
