Trying to do something other than saving cigar bands and taking notes on what I like.
I recently started using Cigar Scanner. Decent free app that lets you take a pic of the band and will find the cigar. You can rate, add notes, see other ratings, find local shops, etc. So far no annoying in app sales. Anyone else using it or some other app? |

I used that one for a while, but honestly it wouldn't recognize half of the cigars I was smoking, thinking of picking up a cigar dossier soon, would be cool to hand that down to a future son or grandson. |

I used a couple apps and had the same problem with recognizing bands, I now just maintain an excel sheet that has details about all of my cigars as well as my personal rating. Its also very easy for maintaining inventory. |

I'm using social humidor. It tracks how long its been in your humidor and how many you have left, and allows you to make notes on the cigars. Also tracks prices for you and where you bought it.
I couldn't get the scanner to work with the majority of the brands I tried either. Even when I manually searched the database was too small. |

The cigar dossier is pretty nice and tactile. Yes you have to glue down labels and use a writing instrument but that's the fun of it.
Pulling the booking the shelf and looking back on your notes is satisfiing; friends also find it intrasting to flip threw it. I'm not a non-tech, early 30's. Jair something about that book that no app can emulate. |
