I recently smoked a Man O'War Side project 52c and I have to say it was the best tasting cigar I have tried since I smoked the Flor de las Antillas a few weeks ago. From the first pull I really enjoyed the taste.
My problem is this cigar is a chisel shaped cigar, and although initially I liked the small opening for smoking after a few pulls I felt like it was reallly unable to get a good draw. I tried cutting it a little more but nothing I did made me able to get a good puff, and sadly I had to toss it earlier than I would like. What is the proper method of cutting one of these cigars? Maybe I just got a bad one that was rolled too tight? The taste was so good I'm really disappointed, and I am probably just going to order the full side project sampler to try again. |

Squamata I read the replies in that link you posted and I think it is safe to say my cigar was rolled incorrectly. I just could not get a good draw, and it seems even with a tiny cut the cigar should be drawing correctly. Oh well. Agreed, even a little hole of any kind should have produced a decent draw. Possible it was a bad roll like you said or maybe a plug. I'd say next time cut it with regular cutter like you would a torpedo and just bypass the shaped tip. The Manowar sticks you got look pretty interesting. I've had one and loved it. Good luck on future cuts with that type of stick, hopefully it might have been just one bad one. |
