I have a 1998 John Deere LX178 tractor and I cant get an answer to this problem.

Engine is a liquid cooled, carbureted V Twin. When the motor is running it pulses fuel out of a small hole toward

the bottom of the fuel pump. Any ideas why before I spend $130 on a new fuel pump.

Thanks

It is probably a 'weep' hole like a water  pump has.

An indication the diaphragm is about to rupture completely.
