I am going to insulate some of the garages walls. The spaces between the studs is 14" wide and they are 10ft tall. I'd like to get the batt stuff that has the flaps which are stapled into place. What should I expect to pay for the insulation? I have a total of 17 spaces I need to fill with insulation.
I'll probably run to Home Depot and Lowes tomorrow to see what I can find for pricing. I'm just curious what I can find out tonight. |
They should be 16" on center and the spaces are 14 1/2". You will need to buy it by the roll and cut it to length. You staple it between the studs, not with the fold over the studs. It's almost always on sale––usually about $10-11 a roll in this area. You can get either R-11 or R-13 these days. Honestly, I forget how long the rolls are.
