Have a side by side with water/ice dispensor. I am getting a small leak near the drip (?) pan underneath? I cannot figure out where the water is coming from. If my drip pan has a whole, how do I replace it as it seems stuck in there where I can't remove it.
Any ideas of what to look for? |
| I had the exact same problem and it took feeding a new 1/4" line up through the door to fix it. My problem was very intermittent. The best I could figure is that the water only leaked after you used the dispenser and then let it sit. The valve is down below so the water in the line inside the door would slowly leak out. The water itself was leaking out a small weep hole at the center of the lower door seal (the top side of that lower seal) on the freezer door. Some of the water would end up in the freezer and some on the floor. Anyways after fixing a new hose to the end of the old one and pulling it up through the door, buttoning everything up, there was no more leak. The replacement hose was part of an ice maker plumbing kit I got from Home Depot. |

The drip pan collects the melt from defrost cycles and then uses a fan and the heat from the compressor to evaporate it into the room. Most drip pans can be removed for cleaning, though some require access from the front and back to remove a screw or two. |
