[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Electrical problem

Our garage electrical outlets do not work. I reset the central GFI, and reset the breaker. Only the top plug on the master GFI works, nothing else does. Any ideas?

Garage is wired in a circuit starting with that GFI - cheap way to provide GFI protection to rest of outlets. The GFI receptacle may be bad, may have to buy a new one.

If you have voltage between the hot and the grounded conductor (neutral), replace the GFCI. Put the hot wire and the white wire of same pair on the line side, the other black and white go on the load side.
