Hi guys I was wondering if you could help me out.

While I'm home on spring break, my mom has asked me to take a look at the toilet and fix a problem with it.
Apparently when you flush it, the tank doesn't refill. Randomly 20 or 30min later it will fill back up. Its not a slow fill, its just a pause then fill.

I don't really know what i need to fix. Can any of you experts out there hook me up with some knowledge?

Sounds like the float is probably sticking.  Just replace it.  Takes about 10 minutes.

Hehe........he said ballcock

Actually that or the whole asembly of that section.

Nothing to it, and a pretty cheap fix.

I used to work in a hardware store, one time one of the plumbers in town was there getting stuff and a lady was talking to the manager about something to plug the hole in the sink where the sprayer went.

The plumber without thinking blurted out "Cock Hole Cover", correct term, but not in mixed company.

If its an older toilet, just replace the whole assembly inside the tank. Its pretty easy and your not mixing old and new parts.

Sounds like the fill valve is sticking. If so, a replacement is in order. It's an easy job if you follow the directions on the box.
