Can you remelt and use the silver bearing solder that drips/runs off of your project?  With prices the way they are, I hate to throw the stuff in the trash.

Not really.
It is contasminated and would not make a reliable joint.
If the rod contained phosphorous for fluxing it is gone.

if you really wanted too you could, you would have to get a bunch of the flux that is sold by itself, and it would be a real PITA.

I didn't think silver bearing solder had flux in it.  Am I wrong?

Many silver bearing solders contain phosphorous to act as a flux.
No additional flux is often needed for these alloys.
The heavy use of TXVs in A/C work has made separate flux not acceptable.
Flux leaves enough corrosive residue to damage the TXV.

Didn't know that. They do sell the flux at the AC shops and I have seen the techs buy it. I have used flux on a few systems where the pipe was very dirty, won't do that again.
